Manchester United have received a positive injury update regarding rising star Ayden Heaven, with reports confirming his recent setback is not as serious as initially feared.
The 18-year-old defender was forced off early in the second half during United’s 2-1 victory over Leicester City last weekend, sparking concerns over a potential long-term absence.
Heaven left the King Power Stadium wearing a protective boot but was seen walking unaided, easing worries about the severity of his injury.
Taking to Instagram, the teenage sensation reassured fans, writing:
"Thank you guys for all the support! I have read all your messages, and I'm doing really well and recovering fast."
Heaven is now out of his protective boot and could resume training after the international break. With United not in action until their April 1 fixture against Nottingham Forest, the former Arsenal youngster may have enough time to recover and regain fitness.
Despite United’s defensive injury crisis—with Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire, Leny Yoro, Luke Shaw, and Jonny Evans all sidelined—Heaven has stepped up impressively. The centre-back has made four appearances this season, earning back-to-back starts against Real Sociedad and Leicester before his injury.
United boss Ruben Amorim has been highly impressed with Heaven’s performances, particularly his composure and focus under pressure. The Portuguese manager praised the teenager after the Leicester game, saying:
"Yeah, he already did that [showed promise] against Arsenal, Real Sociedad, and today. This was the most difficult game for him because after playing so well against Sociedad, we expected him to relax a little bit. But he was so focused and played quite well, so let’s hope for the best."
Heaven joined Manchester United from Arsenal in the January transfer window for an undisclosed fee, believed to be over £1 million. Despite limited senior experience—having only featured in one Carabao Cup match for the Gunners—United saw him as a first-team option, and he has quickly proven his worth.
With the Red Devils battling for a strong finish in both the Premier League and Europa League, Heaven’s quick recovery could be crucial as United chase a European spot.
