Liverpool can take a significant step toward clinching the Premier League title as they travel to face Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday (2pm BST).
The Reds received a boost in the title race after Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw by Everton. As a result, Jürgen Klopp’s side now needs just 11 points from their final eight fixtures to secure the coveted silverware. Liverpool are in high spirits following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Everton in the Merseyside derby earlier this week.
While Liverpool enter the clash as favourites, Fulham will not be pushovers. The Cottagers currently sit ninth in the Premier League and have already defeated Nottingham Forest, Chelsea, and Newcastle United this season. Additionally, they held Liverpool to a 2-2 draw at Anfield earlier in the campaign—proof they can cause problems for the league leaders.
Reiss Nelson – Out
The on-loan Arsenal winger remains sidelined after undergoing hamstring surgery in February. He is unlikely to feature again this season.
Harry Wilson – Out
The former Liverpool man has returned to light training but won’t be available for this weekend. Manager Marco Silva said:
“It’s nice to see Harry on the grass doing individual work. He’ll be with us soon, which is great news for our wide options.”
Kenny Tete – Doubt
The Dutch full-back, who suffered a knee injury at Anfield in December, is back in full training and could make the matchday squad. Silva added:
“Kenny is training 100% and is in contention. It could be Liverpool, it could be the next match—it’s up to me to decide.”
Alisson Becker – Minor Doubt
The goalkeeper missed the Merseyside derby after suffering a concussion while on international duty with Brazil. Head coach Arne Slot stated:
“With Alisson, it’s a concussion. He’ll play when he ticks all the boxes according to the protocol.”
Conor Bradley – Doubt
Bradley has been out for six weeks with a hamstring injury. He’s resumed training, but Liverpool may hold off on rushing him back. Slot mentioned that Curtis Jones could cover at right-back if needed.
With Arsenal dropping points, Liverpool have a golden opportunity to tighten their grip on the top spot. A win at Craven Cottage would put them one step closer to a 20th English league title—and their second Premier League crown in five years.
