Manchester United Women’s head coach, Marc Skinner, has signed a new two-year contract, extending his stay at the club beyond the current season. The deal also includes an option for a further year, securing his long-term future with the WSL giants.
The 42-year-old took charge in 2021 and made history by leading United Women to their first-ever major trophy—the FA Cup—last season. Under his leadership, the team has continued to progress and currently sits third in the Women’s Super League (WSL). They are also set to face Manchester City in a highly anticipated FA Cup semi-final on April 13.
Expressing his excitement about the new deal, Skinner said:
"It has been an absolute privilege to serve as head coach for this fantastic football club for the past four years, and I am delighted to be extending my time in the role.
"We are building a young, hungry team with the aim of challenging consistently for further trophies. There is still more hard work ahead, but the players and staff have already shown their determination to succeed, and I am looking forward to us taking the next steps in our journey together."
Before joining Manchester United, Skinner managed Birmingham City and Orlando Pride. He also guided United Women to their highest-ever WSL finish (2nd place) in the 2022-23 season, securing a historic Champions League qualification.
