Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured their fourth straight Ligue 1 title on Saturday, maintaining their unbeaten run this season with a 1-0 victory over Angers SCO. The result handed Luis Enrique’s side an unassailable lead in the French top-flight with six rounds still remaining.
The win at the Parc des Princes took PSG to 74 points, 24 clear of second-placed AS Monaco, who can only reach a maximum of 71 points even if they win all their remaining games. This marks PSG’s 13th Ligue 1 title, a French record, and their 11th in the last 13 seasons—further underlining their dominance since the Qatar Sports Investments takeover in 2011.
The game’s only goal came in the 55th minute, when Khvicha Kvaratskhelia—a January signing—sent in a precise cross that was finished at the far post by 19-year-old Desire Doue, netting his fifth league goal of the season.
While the first half ended goalless, PSG dominated possession and registered 11 shots, with Goncalo Ramos accounting for nearly half. Despite their offensive pressure, the breakthrough didn’t come until after the break.
Following the opening goal, Luis Enrique introduced a triple substitution, bringing on Ousmane Dembele, Ligue 1's current top scorer with 21 goals, to get minutes ahead of PSG’s Champions League quarter-final against Aston Villa.
Although PSG couldn’t extend their lead, they kept control of the match, and the result was never in doubt. The home crowd celebrated early, chanting "We are the champions" well before the final whistle confirmed their latest domestic triumph.
