Bukayo Saka could be back in action for Arsenal against Fulham on Tuesday after being spotted in full training for the first time since suffering a hamstring injury in December.
The 23-year-old winger sustained the injury during Arsenal’s 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace, forcing him off the pitch in visible pain. Just days later, he underwent surgery, ruling him out for the past 19 matches across all competitions.
His absence has significantly impacted Arsenal’s title challenge, with the Gunners now 12 points behind Liverpool. During his time on the sidelines, Mikel Arteta’s squad has also been eliminated from both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
Arsenal has struggled with attacking depth, with Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz both ruled out for the season. Arteta has been forced to play Mikel Merino as a false nine, while 18-year-old Ethan Nwaneri has been deployed on the right wing.
Saka has made steady progress in his recovery over the international break, with his primary target being Arsenal’s Champions League quarter-final clash against Real Madrid.
However, there’s now a possibility he could return sooner than expected and be included in the squad for Arsenal’s Premier League fixture against Fulham on Tuesday.
This could be a massive boost for Arsenal as they aim to salvage their title hopes and strengthen their push for a top-four finish.
