Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka is fit and ready to return after a three-month injury layoff, manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed.
The England international underwent surgery following a hamstring injury sustained during Arsenal’s Premier League victory over Crystal Palace on December 21.
Saka, who has been a key player for the Gunners this season with nine goals and 10 assists in 24 appearances across all competitions, could make his comeback in Tuesday’s league fixture against Fulham at Emirates Stadium.
"Bukayo Saka is ready to go," Arteta stated.
"All the necessary precautions have been taken. Now it’s about reintroducing him at the right time, but he’s eager to get back on the pitch."
Arteta emphasized Saka’s importance to the team, describing him as a "massive weapon" and highlighting his crucial role in Arsenal’s success.
The Gunners currently sit second in the Premier League, trailing leaders Liverpool by 12 points with just nine games remaining.
Defender Riccardo Calafiori faces a spell on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury while on international duty for Italy against Germany on March 20.
"It could have been much worse," said Arteta.
"Hopefully, it’s just a matter of weeks, but we’ll monitor his recovery closely."
In other news, Arsenal’s newly appointed sporting director Andrea Berta attended Monday’s press conference after replacing Edu in the role.
Arteta revealed that Berta had received "many offers" from other clubs but was enthusiastic about joining Arsenal’s project.
