Manchester City star Erling Haaland was seen wearing a protective boot and using crutches after suffering an injury during his team's 2-1 victory over Bournemouth on Sunday.

Haaland Suffers Ankle Injury Against Bournemouth

The 24-year-old forward endured a frustrating evening at the Vitality Stadium, missing a first-half penalty before scoring City’s equalizer. However, in the 61st minute, Haaland was forced off the pitch following a collision with Lewis Cook, which resulted in the striker crashing into the advertising boards and seemingly injuring his ankle.

Haaland attempted to continue but was ultimately replaced by Omar Marmoush, who made an immediate impact by scoring City's second goal within three minutes of his introduction.

City Await Updates on Haaland’s Fitness

Following the match, Haaland was spotted leaving the stadium with his left ankle strapped, wearing a protective boot, and walking on crutches. While this could be a precautionary measure ahead of further medical evaluations, City fans and staff will be anxiously awaiting confirmation regarding the severity of the injury.

Speaking after the game, City manager Pep Guardiola admitted that the extent of Haaland's injury remains unknown. When asked for an update, Guardiola told ITV: "I don’t know yet, we will have to see."

Haaland’s Eventful Night at the Vitality Stadium

It was a mixed performance for Haaland, who had multiple opportunities to score before finally converting. After missing an early header, he was given a golden chance to put City ahead from the penalty spot in the 14th minute following a handball by Tyler Adams. However, his effort was saved by Bournemouth goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Minutes later, Haaland found himself one-on-one with Kepa but sent his shot over the bar. Bournemouth capitalized on City’s missed chances, with Evanilson scoring the opener in the 21st minute after being set up by Justin Kluivert.

Guardiola responded by making a tactical switch at halftime, bringing on Nico O'Reilly for Abdukodir Khusanov. The change paid off as O’Reilly played a crucial role in City’s equalizer, delivering a perfect assist for Haaland to tap in from close range.

What’s Next for Haaland and Manchester City?

With City advancing to the FA Cup semi-finals, the club will be hoping for positive news regarding Haaland’s condition as they continue their push for silverware across multiple competitions. Fans will eagerly await further medical assessments to determine whether their star striker faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines or a swift return to action.
