Tyrique George Opens Scoring for Chelsea
The Blues, managed by Enzo Maresca, were the clear favorites to win the competition and took the lead just four minutes into the second half. Tyrique George, the 19-year-old winger, reacted quickest to a rebound following a shot by Reece James that had been parried by Legia's goalkeeper, Kacper Tobiasz.
George, who has represented England at under-19 level, has featured in 10 European matches for Chelsea this season but is yet to start a Premier League match for the senior team.
Noni Madueke Doubles Chelsea's Advantage
In the 57th minute, Noni Madueke sealed Chelsea’s dominance with a well-taken goal. The substitute finished low into the corner after a brilliant assist from Jadon Sancho, putting the visitors comfortably ahead.
Penalty Missed, But Chelsea Seals Victory
Chelsea was awarded a penalty in the 73rd minute when Christopher Nkunku was fouled in the box, but Tobiasz made a crucial save to deny Nkunku’s spot-kick. However, Madueke quickly responded, finishing off a Sancho cross for his second goal of the night and ensuring a 3-0 lead for Chelsea.
